Because training is awesome.
As a licensed training provider of Red Cross first aid courses, we are able to offer all current first-aid training & certification courses as advertised by the Red Cross, including all optional 'add-on' & 'skills boost' sessions.
Please note: Currently we only cater to districts within the Simon Kenton BSA Council (Mid Ohio).
Unless stated, all courses follow the blended learning format: An online learning portion, followed by an instructor-led classroom skills session. Times vary depending on course content, but usually expect an in-person session to last anywhere between 2.5 to 4 hours (for a full instructor led, no blended option, course).
Current courses on offer (as of Feb 2025):
Either Adult (+child), Pediatric, or a combination of both.
CPR & AED without the first aid module.
Hands Free CPR.
'Stop the Bleed': aka First Aid for Severe Trauma & Tourniquet usage.
Basic First Aid.
Note: The Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course covers all of the Webelos First Responder requirements.
Wilderness First Aid:
We are gearing up to run these 16 hour sessions in 2025, but your best bet is to take the council offered program detailed here.
Even Baby Sitting! (coming soon...)
Head, Neck, Muscle, Bone and Joint Injuries and Splinting.
Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto-Injector Administration.
Asthma and Quick-Relief Medication Administration.
Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Administration.
Life-Threatening Bleeding and Tourniquet Application.
Above could be offered as a single course. Please enquire.
Mainly for those holding a current Red Cross certification requiring recertification.
Online only options are available too! While these will not give an OSHA compliant training certification, they can be used as a training stop gap; take the online session then attend an in-person skills session.
Other info:
Note: While we can train just about anyone, in order to receive CPR certification participants must be able to demonstrate correct CPR techniques: usually two-three sets of 30 second compressions with rescue breaths. While there are no published minimum age requirements, this may exclude anyone younger than 4th grade.
